What to eat when going away for races? We eat a plant based diet which we do for ethical, environmental and health reasons. We also take care to ensure we get the right macro nutrients to fuel training, racing and recovery. We went to @jakecampusnutrition to help us sort our daily nutrition and we've seen the results in body composition, health and training outcomes. So what was in the boxes?? We pre-prepared our breakfast, lunch and dinner meals into single serve containers, froze them and took them on the road with us. The advantage of this is knowing that we will eat what we need when we need it.... The second half of the Molesworth Relay. What can I say other than an amazing experience running through the vast river valleys, rolling up and down hills to end with a tough climb up Jack's pass to see Hanmer waiting below. The reward was a fast fun 5km downhill sprint to the finish line. Crewed by the amazing @bensaidwhat who kept with me if I needed him or headed a couple of km ahead of me to greet me with a big smile, song and dance to make me smile and keep my spirits up. He was on hand with water, gels, saltsticks or just there to cruise alongside me when things got tough. We will be back, whether it's for another team effort or a solo effort, who knows!?
